The closure will commence at 5:00 AM on Monday, 13 January 2025, and is expected to last for approximately two months. This closure is part of a major maintenance project to enhance road safety and durability. The project involves 16 kilometers of road reconstruction, drainage system upgrades, shoulder clearing, and the replacement of the Mangatoetoenui Bridge deck.
